Overview
The Do Dham Yatra, covering Kedarnath and Badrinath, is one of the most revered pilgrimages in India, attracting thousands of devotees every year. This sacred journey takes you to two of the holiest temples dedicated to Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu, nestled in the majestic Garhwal Himalayas.
Kedarnath – The Abode of Lord Shiva
Perched at an altitude of 3,583 meters, Kedarnath Temple is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva and holds immense religious significance. According to mythology, after the Kurukshetra war, the Pandavas sought forgiveness from Lord Shiva for their sins. Shiva, disguising himself as a bull, tried to evade them, but when Bhima recognized him, he disappeared into the earth, leaving his hump behind. This sacred spot is now Kedarnath Jyotirlinga, where devotees seek divine blessings.
The journey to Kedarnath is an adventurous trek of 16 km from Gaurikund, offering breathtaking landscapes and an overwhelming sense of devotion. The temple, surrounded by snow-capped peaks and glaciers, provides a truly mystical and spiritual experience.
Badrinath – The Abode of Lord Vishnu
Located at an altitude of 3,133 meters, Badrinath Temple is one of the four Char Dham temples and is dedicated to Lord Vishnu (Badri Narayan). According to legend, Lord Vishnu meditated here, and Goddess Lakshmi transformed herself into a Badri tree to provide him shade. Thus, the temple stands as a beacon of salvation and devotion.
Situated along the banks of the Alaknanda River, Badrinath Temple is a marvel of spiritual and natural beauty. Nearby attractions like Tapt Kund (hot springs), Neelkanth Peak, and Mana Village (India’s last village) add to the religious and scenic significance of this holy place.
This 4 Nights 5 Days Do Dham Yatra is a perfect blend of devotion, adventure, and divine blessings, taking you through the pristine Himalayan landscapes, ancient temples, and sacred river confluences.
